The official ASM Agar Art contest is ongoing (see here for rules & details).

But, if you'd like to submit your work at our SEB-ASM contest, bring along a photo of your work to exhibit.  Artworks will be judged based on microbiology technique and creativity as well as overall aesthetics.

Love art but working with microbes not your thing?  We will also have a "non-microbe art" category in which participants can showcase the beauty of the microbial world using any media you like!  Examples may include drawing, painting, crochet, embroidery, a poetic ode to gram negative bacteria, a papier-mâché bacteriophage or even a 3-d model of your favorite periplasmic space.  Let microbes be your muse and show off your best artistic skills!

The best works will be awarded with (cash!) prizes in addition to major bragging points.
